Be solution-focused rather than problem focused.
Learn to recognise where in your body your first sign of anxiety is and do something to calm yourself down
Choose a calming image and "anchor it" by putting two fingers from one hand on the opposite wrist. When you are feeling anxious, put the same two fingers on your wrist and bring up your calming image.
Practice mindfullness at different times of the day to increase calmness in your life.
Develop a "worry time" where you worry for half an hour a day. When worries come into your ind, you say "I'm not going to think about that, that's for worry time.
Learn to say "even if" rather than "what if".
Divide your problems into "real" and "imaginary". Then focus on solving the real ones.
Create a "bad thought jar" and when you have an anxious/negative/worrisome thought, write it down and put it in the jar. When the jar is full, get rid of them ritualistically.
Learn to talk about "anxious behaviour" rather than "being anxious" Behaviour is easier to change than changing ourselves.
Talk to yourself like your own best friend rather than your worst enemy. We listen to ourselves far more than anyone else.
